William N. Schjerven Jr., 86, of Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, April 29, 2016. Bill was born April 16, 1930 in Chicago. Beloved husband and best friend of Delores Schjerven (nee Schuh) for 59 glorious years. Loving father of William (Barbara) Schjerven, and Lisa (John) Wenzelman. Cherished grandfather of Bill (fiancé Sara Rocus) Schjerven, Aaron Schjerven, and Ryan, Daniel, and Sarah Wenzelman. Brother of Robert (Anita) Schjerven. Devoted son of the late William and the late Elvira Schjerven. Dear friend of many.

Bill proudly served his country, enlisting in the Navy and later joining the Army, rising to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was also a talented artist, who enjoyed drawing and painting.

Visitation Monday, 3-9 P.M., at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd.(at Northwest Highway) Mt. Prospect. Visitation continues Tuesday 9 A.M. until Funeral Service 10 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St., Mt. Prospect. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
